Serbia: Geo-Archaeological Field Studies
June 12–July 3, 2017
(Summer Session I)
The course begins with visits to the capital cities of Bucharest, Sofia, and Belgrade and their museums to see archeological items and gain a historical overview for the archeological dig and geological field research. Students will then spend two weeks on site with faculty and students from Serbia, and hands on learning of archeological techniques, pottery analysis, panning, aerial drone photography, and the use of magnetometry, mapping, field photography, soil chemistry, total station, and global information systems. Two expert faculty lead the program (Archaeology and Earth and Environmental Sciences). Previous field work is preferred. Permission of instructor required.
This program is open to undergraduate and graduate students, all majors.

Program Fee
$1,210 (will include CISI health/travel insurance, program-related transportation in Serbia, excursions, housing, and some meals)

Additional Costs
- Brooklyn College tuition and fees for six credits.
- Out-of-pocket costs ($345 estimated minimum) for personal expenses, Internet access, and out-of-pocket meals.
- $1,800 for international round-trip airfare to Serbia.
Estimated Totalled Basic Program Cost: $3,355, plus Brooklyn College tuition and fees for six credits.

Participants will be registered for one six-credit course, shown below. Final course offerings will be dependent on course enrollment.

Financial Aid / Scholarships

How to Apply
- Complete and submit the IEGE Notification of Study Abroad/Brooklyn College Study Abroad Application.
- A $300 nonrefundable deposit is due with your application. Students will pay directly at the Brooklyn College Bursar's Office and must attach their paid receipt to their application when submitting to IEGE. Applications will not be accepted or considered complete without a receipt. Please note this deposit of $300 will only be returned if you are not accepted to the program.
