Brooklyn College holds a very special place in my heart. It’s a campus that I was always enthralled by in NYC. It was right by "the junction" but held so much beauty and mystique. My younger brother graduated from Brooklyn College. Though I did not go there for my undergraduate degree, I knew that I wanted to get my masters there. It has such a rich history for Brooklynites and its one of the best schools in the world for educators.
My best academic memory while at Brooklyn College was being awarded a TOW Fellowship for international research. Through this award I was able to research the power of play for young children from an international lens in Germany. I was able to make some great connections at Frie Intsitut and Hult University.
The experience of getting my Masters at Brooklyn College prepared me to think academically, critically, and imaginatively when solving challenges. I was prepared to execute my skills at a high level.
Brooklyn College is a family. It lives and breathes Brooklyn Grit and values. I would advise any masters student to be prepared to enjoy the beauty of the campus, utilize every facility and opportunity on campus, while working hard and pushing yourself to conquer academia.
