Brooklyn College Cancer Center: News and Events
March 2, 2021
Dear Colleagues,
Have you heard about the great work of our new Brooklyn College Cancer Center (BCCC-CURE)? The mission of BCCC-CURE is to enhance the lives of patients affected by cancer with a special focus on Brooklyn residents. Through this center, Brooklyn College seeks to expand its fundamental research on cancer and combine research forces with local cancer treatment centers and hospitals, and Brooklyn communities while delivering first-class educational opportunities to our undergraduate and graduate students.
The leadership of BCCC-CURE includes Maria Contel, Director; Jenny Basil, Associate Director, Community Outreach; and Brian Gibney, Associate Director, Education. The team also includes Sheena Philogene, Brooklyn College Library, and Ana Bartolome, BCCC-CURE/Immigrant Student Success Office. These colleagues have worked tirelessly to bring their exciting and novel vision for a cancer center to life.
To this end, BCCC-CURE is hosting numerous scientific seminars this spring and four community outreach events beginning this week. These outreach events, listed below, are open to all Brooklyn College staff, faculty, and students.
