Return to Campus Letter #10 College Vaccination Challenge + June 10 Forum for Staff
Return to Campus Letter #10
June 4, 2021
Dear Brooklyn College Community,
This Return to Campus Letter is the tenth in a series designed to help you understand our preparations for the fall semester and how we are protecting your health and safety in that work. In my last letter, I discussed our gradual return to campus in the Fall semester. This week, I’ll discuss our participation in the COVID-19 College Vaccination Challenge. We are engaged in many steps to meet that challenge.
First, we are strongly encouraging everyone to get vaccinated: all staff, students, and faculty members. If you have not done so already, please get vaccinated now. It has never been easier to do so because new vaccination sites have been opened nearby. You can click on the COVID Vaccine Finder to schedule a free and convenient appointment today.
Second, we are fighting vaccine misinformation by hosting public health sessions and providing accurate information to underscore that all three COVID vaccines available in this country are safe and effective. The science is clear: Vaccines protect you and your loved ones.
Third, we will work to help everyone in our campus community get vaccinated before the fall semester. This summer, we will reach out to leaders of the student body, staff, and faculty to help us support their constituents in getting vaccinated. To end this pandemic and ensure the safety of our community in the Fall semester, we must be vaccinated. I will share more about the vaccine challenge this summer. In the meantime, please check out our Returning Safely Together website for additional information about our transition to the fall semester.
As you know, last week, we distributed guidance to supervisors on developing temporary work schedules with remote employees to begin to return this fall. Yesterday, we hosted a forum for supervisors to answer their questions. The questions were excellent, and we know there are more.
Next week, on June 10, 2021, at 2 p.m., we are hosting a second Return to Campus Open Forum for any employee who wishes to attend. Please register now for that Return to Campus Open Forum for staff members. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about how to join the meeting. You can also submit a question you would like answered at that forum.
I will issue Return to Campus Letter #11 in two weeks. Until then, take care of yourself and please get vaccinated and support others to get vaccinated.
Yours sincerely,
Michelle J. Anderson
President, Brooklyn College
