A Safe and Gradual Return for Fall 2021
March 5, 2021
Dear Brooklyn College Community,
Good news is on the horizon. This week, President Biden announced that the United States will have vaccines for every adult in the country by summer. As we prepare for the prospect of a return to our beloved campus, safeguarding the health and well-being of our students, staff, and faculty will remain our highest priority.
CUNY Chancellor Félix V. Matos Rodriguez has announced a plan for CUNY’s safe and gradual return to a more in-person mode of instruction this fall. At this point, we are planning a mix of in-person, hybrid, and online courses in the fall, with the knowledge that courses may need to convert from one format to another before they begin as conditions change.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention continues to advise that we maintain social distancing and wear masks. We will share additional information, guidance, and requirements from the CDC, the state, the city, and CUNY as we receive them. The evolving nature of conditions and guidance will likely require scheduling changes over the next few months. We appreciate your patience as we work together to ensure the health and safety of our students, staff, and faculty.
Yours truly,
Michelle J. Anderson
President, Brooklyn College
