ITS Public Computer Labs
Located in the West End Building, the ITS Computing Lab house four computer classrooms, black-and-white and color printers, 350+ public computers, LINUX computers, lounge areas, workshops, video conferencing and group study rooms.
Resources
Throughout the ITS Computer Lab, you'll find:
- four private group study rooms,
- more than 300 Windows PCs,
- 20 Mac workstations,
- 21 Linux workstations,
- scanners, and
- photocopying and color printing equipment.
Free Printing
At the beginning of each semester, students are allocated free printouts managed by our PaperCut Printing System. The exact number of printouts is determined by collegiate status and/or number of credits taken. Students can access these printouts at the ITS Public Labs using their CUNYfirst EMPLID and PIN. This system applies to all Brooklyn College students — undergraduates and graduate students. Students can replenish accounts that run low by using a convenient on-site cash machine.
Adaptive Computing Area
The Adaptive Computing Area in the lab is designed specifically to accommodate the needs of students with disabilities and is better than ever. Situated in an easily accessible, private area of the lab, there are three PCs, each equipped with a 27" monitor and the newest adaptive programs, including Zoom Text (screen magnification program) and JAWS (voice output of typed material). The Adaptive Computing Area also contains Kurzweil (a machine that scans the contents of a page and formats it into voice output).
Sit Back and Relax
Come and enjoy our spacious lounges, furnished with tables and comfortable sofas. They're the perfect place to read, study, surf the Web on a laptop, or just kick back and relax. There is a waiting area with bistro-style tables and plenty of bench space—a great place to have lunch, take a break, or chat with friends. You may also reserve one of our four brand-new group meeting rooms. Each is network equipped with whiteboard and conference-style seating.
