Society of Actuaries University Outreach Visit

Society of Actuaries staff and a panel of featured actuaries came to speak about the actuarial profession.
The meeting consisted of a panel discussion featuring three actuaries from various areas of practice and was moderated by SOA staff (representatives of the Education and Communications/Marketing departments).
The featured actuaries were from our local area, currently practicing, and ready to share insights into the daily work of an actuary, how they pursued the actuarial profession, and about opportunities for new actuaries entering the field.
SOA staff shared the latest information on the requirements for the ASA, FSA and CERA credentials, insights and resources on exams, e-Learning and grading.
Standard presentations were 1.5 hours and included 30-45 minutes for students to ask questions, network and have one-on-one time with panelists and SOA staff.
