Introduction—General Interest Meeting

12:30–2 p.m.
Occidental Lounge, 5th Floor, Student Center

Those interested in an exciting and prestigious career in actuarial science were encouraged to attend this General Interest Meeting to learn more about how the BCAS can help them. At this meeting, attendees got an overview of the actuarial profession and what BCAS does as a student club, such as holding networking events with professionals at top firms and conducting professional development workshops that teach the technical and interviewing skills needed to land internships/jobs. BCAS usually collaborates with other college offices, such as the Magner Career Center, when it comes to planning and holding career-related events. At regular meetings, we discuss current events and issues that actuaries face today.

This event gave attendees the chance to network with fellow Brooklyn College students who are interested in an actuarial career. Those in attendance also discovered what exciting events and activities the Society had planned for this semester.
