January 2022
To the Brooklyn College Community,
Happy New Year! Greetings as we begin the winter intersession and head into our spring semester.
There is much to look forward to academically and culturally in the coming months. Below are some of this month’s diversity highlights that recognize the importance of inclusion and the need for respect of our differences. Annually, there are specific months and days that have been chosen to recognize, honor, and bring awareness to a specific person, cause, culture, or group. Stay tuned for more highlights, news, and diverse events that will be shared here as the semester progresses and schedules are finalized.
Presently, the upcoming holiday for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is more than a federal holiday; it is a time to honor the legacy of a great man and civil rights leader. It is also nationally recognized as a day for volunteering and community service. I invite you to seek out and participate in ways to make a difference in the diverse communities and opportunities that await you.
