I/O Group Processes and Organizational Behavior M.A.
This program prepares the student for entry-level analyst and associate positions in firms or departments that offer services in areas such as organizational development, talent management, change management, organizational learning, or research and data analysis. It shares a common core of five courses with other concentrations in industrial and organizational psychology, but places additional emphasis on theory, research, and practice at the level of social structures within organizations, such as organizational development, organizational effectiveness, group processes, team performance, culture, and leadership.
Degree Requirements
The program requires students to take a total of 33 to 36 credits, depending on whether or not they decide to complete a thesis. The M.A. thesis is not a requirement. Students who wish to complete a thesis should get in touch with a potential adviser in their first semester.
- No-thesis option: Total credits required: 36
- Thesis option: 30 + M.A. Thesis, PSYC 7781, a three-credit course.
Comprehensive examination is a requirement of the program and students are eligible to take it when they have registered for their 24th credit.

Specialization Requirements (3 courses, 9 hours)

Electives (6–12 credits)
The remaining six to 12 credits (depending on whether thesis option or not) consist of elective courses and must be 7000-level or higher.
Internships
Internships are not required but strongly encouraged.
