More Spring 2022 Updates
February 28, 2022
Dear Brooklyn College community,
I hope you are all doing well as we close out February. It has been refreshing to see the numbers of COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations dropping sharply nationwide over the past few weeks, and I know you share my hopes for the end of the pandemic this spring.
I have four items to share in this letter.
First, once again, we are hosting the NYC Vaccination Van on Campus Rd. outside of the Student Center (SUBO) for your quick convenience. The van will only be available for just two days this time: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, March 1-2, with no appointment necessary. As you know faculty, administrators, teaching and non-teaching adjuncts, CLTs and those staff in the HEO series are all required to upload proof of full vaccination into CUNYfirst no later than April 1. The Vaccine Van will be offering the Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines. Take advantage of this great opportunity to get your first or second dose for free!
Second, I am hosting a new series of informal chats this semester called “Time to Talk” Friday mornings in my office, starting this Friday from 8 to 10 a.m. Any student, staff, or faculty member can visit me at any point during these sessions. (We will post a “Time to Talk” schedule for each month on my office door.) Returning to campus to work and learn in person is a big change, and I want to get to know you and see how you are doing. Please stop by.
Third, we are hosting a Federal Stimulus Funding Town Hall next week on March 10 at noon to report how we have been using the federal funding we received during the pandemic. Please register in advance for this meeting. After registering, you will receive an email explaining how to join the Town Hall.
Fourth, and most exciting: We are hosting our 2022 Commencement Ceremony on Tuesday morning, May 31, at Barclays Center! Our Student Affairs Office will circulate details about the event shortly, but after two years of online ceremonies, we are thrilled to be returning to an in-person event to celebrate.
I wish you health and happiness as the spring approaches.
Warm regards,
Michelle J. Anderson
