Message From the Dean
Our many departments and programs mount dozens of exciting scholarly and cultural events every semester, demonstrating that the School of HSS remains the intellectual hub of the campus.
Departments
The Department of Communication Arts, Sciences, and Disorders continues to keep pace with the many fields in which it offers instruction, including social media communication, crisis communication, and speech-language pathology and audiology.
Program: Caribbean Studies
The Caribbean Studies Program has been in the vanguard of Brooklyn College interdisciplinary academic programs since its inception in fall 1979.
New Faculty: Simanique Moody
We reflect on Simanique Moody’s first semester at Brooklyn College and the journey from Georgia, Minnesota, and the Netherlands that brought her to us.
Our Alumni: Derek Norman
Derek Norman credits his years at BC, including a stint as managing editor of the Kingsman, and Study Abroad to Ghana for scooping up a job at the New York Times right after graduation.
Our Students: Ivy Bryan
Ivy Bryan is a local Brooklyn woman who loves Brooklyn College and giving back to the community. She is a full time student who is a double major focusing on Film and Women and Gender Studies.
