Alcohol and Drug Use
Antibiotics
- Many patients seeking relief of symptoms expect a prescription of antibiotics from their prescriber when oftentimes the cause of their conditions are due to viruses, which get better with the passage of time and other treatments. Learn more about Antibiotic Prescribing and Use.
Bedbugs
- Bedbugs are an environmental, not a medical, problem. While it may be emotionally stressful to have bedbugs, neither the bugs, nor their bites, cause or spread disease. (Excessive scratching in response to a bite may increase the chance of infection.)
- At Brooklyn College, our in-house licensed exterminator quickly investigates any sightings of bedbugs, If you see or suspect bedbugs on campus, contact Facilities at 718.951.5885 so they can contain the problem and prevent their spread. Here is an overview of campus response to campus response to bedbugs (pdf).
