Events Hosted By the Shirley Chisholm Project
In addition to our archival work, the Chisholm Project organizes multimedia projects and host various public talks and conferences to maintain the intellectual and political tradition of Congresswoman Chisholm.
Chisholm Day
Our signature event is our annual Chisholm Day celebration. Chisholm Day serves a three-fold purpose: to keep Chisholm's memory alive, to engage the public on issues of social justice and to educate both the public and academic communities. In Chisholm Days past, we have welcomed a number of renowned activists, scholars, intellectuals and community leaders as our keynote speakers and honored guests. If you are interested in listening to guest speakers and BC student speakers from past Chisholm day gatherings, visit our Oral History Project.
