Institutes
A distinctive feature of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences is our culture of interdisciplinary collaboration. This culture is supported by our institutes that contribute to our research and educational missions by bringing together faculty and students from different intellectual backgrounds to collaborate on inherently complex challenges. Additionally, these centers facilitate transcending disciplinary boundaries by providing intellectual homes for seminar series, visiting scholars, and guest speakers. By providing both the culture and space for interdisciplinary inquiry, our institutes help our faculty and students to take on and make a difference in complex and vexing problems facing societies at local, national, and global scales.
