Television, Radio & Emerging Media

Study television and radio in one of New York's finest facilities.

Whether you're in front of a microphone or behind a camera, a career in our media environment can be a thrilling experience, and our highly regarded programs are your gateway to the job you've always wanted. Hands-on experience is key in this exciting field, and we make sure you'll have all that you need by the time you graduate. You will have access to our Studio B, one of the best television facilities in the metropolitan area, as well as to our radio station, where student producers rule the airwaves. You will learn state-of-the-art media and digital technologies and become proficient in their use. By the time you begin your job search, you'll already possess an impressive portfolio: While you're still a student, your work will appear on CUNY TV and B-CAT, Brooklyn's community access channel; be broadcast on WBCR Radio on campus; and be webcast internationally.

Study television and radio at the college where media outlets come to recruit graduates.

Earning your master's degree in television and radio at Brooklyn College is a very wise choice: Many in New York's most powerful and influential media hold us in such high regard that they go out of their way to recruit our graduates for their organizations. Our state-of-the-art television and radio facilities provide real-world settings for your education, and our faculty members are experts in the artistic, business, and scholarly aspects of media. From musical performances to historical programming, you'll learn how to create and edit shows and prepare them for broadcast. You'll also learn how rapid changes in communication technologies are revolutionizing media management and programming. Our affiliations with numerous local media organizations can provide you with further educational opportunities through valuable internships.
