New Global Jazz Program to Make a Big Splash
September 20, 2017
The Conservatory has launched a new kind of graduate jazz program, under the aegis of GRAMMY Award–winning bandleader and pianist Arturo O'Farrill, focusing on the influences exerted by musical cultures from around the world and experimental aspects of contemporary jazz. The program is announcing itself loudly through the October issue of Downbeat magazine, a special issue focusing on jazz education programs, where the Conservatory ran a full-page ad and O'Farrill is featured in one of the principal articles. He also figures prominently in the January issue of Jazz Times, where he is the subject of a feature article and appears on the cover.
