Qing Hu, Ph.D., Dean
Qing Hu has been dean of the Koppelman School of Business since July 1, 2020. Previously he served as senior associate dean for academic affairs and innovation and held the rank of professor of information systems in the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College (CUNY). Prior to Baruch, Hu served as associate dean for graduate programs and research, chair of the Supply Chain and Information Systems Department, and Union Pacific Professor in Information Systems in the Ivy College of Business at Iowa State University. Hu is an accomplished scholar on cybersecurity, IT strategy, and digital transformation. He has co-authored more than 140 research articles in academic journals and books, and has been an invited speaker at universities and academic conferences around the world. His research on insider threats to organizational digital assets has been frequently cited by academics and reported in the news media. His recent publications about human decision-making in the context of corporate computer crimes using neuroscience tools and theories received broad coverage in online and print media. He is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society.
Carol M. Connell, Ph.D.
Carol M. Connell is professor of business management in the Koppelman School of Business. She is an Earhart Foundation Research Scholar and the author of Reforming the World Monetary System: Fritz Machlup and the Bellagio Group, published in November 2012 (London: Routledge). She earned an Institute for New Thinking in Economics (INET) grant in 2012 for her research into monetary reform and the Bellagio Group, published as a five-volume set of essays and annotated letters in April 2014 by Routledge, London. Connell earned a Tow Professorship in 2014-2015 for her research into planning for crisis: strategy and management theory and the impact of economic uncertainty. She is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society.
Seungho Baek, Ph.D.
Seungho Baek joined Brooklyn College in fall 2015 as an assistant professor. Before joining Brooklyn College, he taught graduate and undergraduate courses in AACSB accredited business schools (University of North Dakota, Illinois Institute of Technology, and Loyola University Chicago). Baek has taught finance courses such as fixed income securities, derivatives pricing, financial markets and institutions, financial modeling, financial econometrics, and corporate finance. He published articles in peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Futures Markets, Journal of Fixed Income, Journal of Alternative Investments, Asia-Pacific Journal of Financial Studies, Intelligent Data Analysis, and others. His research papers have been selected for various research awards and grants. He is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society and the Beta Gamma Sigma chapter adviser at Brooklyn College.
