Science Day 2022
Friday, May 6, 2022
Dear NBS faculty colleagues,
We invite you and your students to take part in Brooklyn College’s 31st annual Science Research Day on Friday, May 6, 2022. On Science Day, undergraduate and graduate students working with BC faculty present judged posters on their research. This year, Science Day will be held virtually, with a two-week-long period of virtual poster viewing from April 22 to May 5, culminating in a live online awards ceremony on May 6, 2022. Students will upload their poster materials and a recorded 5-minute research presentation to the web using an online event platform, and judges will have more than a week to view the presentation and arrange to meet virtually with each student for a brief Q&A session before they score the presentation. In order to view the posted content, judges and other faculty will have to register on our event platform, or have a username and password assigned to them for entry.
Please share the first below link with any of your undergraduate or graduate students who will be submitting an abstract, and use the second list to volunteer as a judge for the event. We also invite your graduate students and post-doctoral fellows to volunteer as judges.
- To submit an abstract: http://tinyurl.com/y3cn4qkp, Deadline: Friday, April 8, 2022
- To volunteer as a Judge: http://tinyurl.com/y456erm3, Deadline: Friday, April 8, 2022
Please encourage undergraduate and graduate students doing research under your guidance to present their work. As you know, students work hard on their research and presenting the posters describing that work to others is an important culminating event for them as scientists. We encourage you and your colleagues to volunteer for the important task of judging posters.
Thanks for your continued support of this important experience for our STEM students. We will be sending regular updates about registering on the virtual event platform as Science Day approaches. Please send any questions to the CASE team at case@brooklyn.cuny.edu.
