  • TTP Residency @ Brooklyn College

TTP Residency @ Brooklyn College

The TTP Residency @ Brooklyn College will connect selected upper-level Brooklyn College students studying Computer Science and related majors to paid, substantive technical internships at businesses throughout New York City in summer 2020, summer 2021 and summer 2022. This partnership between the NYC Tech Talent Pipeline and Brooklyn College gathers valuable feedback from host businesses to better align tech education with the workforce needs of NYC employers. Check out student testimonials that tell about the program’s success and its impact on their lives.

The TTP Residency is a competitive program @ Brooklyn College administered by the Department of Computer and Information Science and the Magner Career Center. Internship roles may include software developer, software engineer, web developer, mobile developer, and other TTP approved positions related to this training.

Based on your company size, your business will be responsible for either 100% or 50% of student wages and will have full support from the TTP team on applicant recruitment and matching processes. Select companies that meet specific criteria may be eligible for 100% intern subsidization support from NYC Tech Talent Pipeline. Please reach out to TTP Program Manager Allan James Lapid for more information about the payment tier structure that matches your company profile.

Internship placements will be full time and start by early June 2022, and will last approximately 12 weeks. Internships may be remote, hybrid, or in-person. The student will work 35 hours per week and earn a wage of at least $20 per hour.

50 students will be selected for the program from all applications received. Students will also have the opportunity to receive credit for CISC 4900 and are expected to:

  • Be a matriculated Brooklyn College student during the entire duration of the program;
  • Have successfully completed a course in data structures;
  • Successfully complete a pre-internship seminar which will include technical interview prep workshops, 1:1 career coaching sessions, and technical assessments;
  • Be able to apply computer science concepts and skills to perform technical work in a real-world internship setting, as assessed by Brooklyn College;
  • Have an articulated career goal of beginning full-time employment in a tech role within New York City immediately after graduation.

Apply to Host a Student

Please complete the business application form if you are interested in hosting a Brooklyn College Tech Talent Pipeline student. A representative from the Magner Career Center will reach out after receipt to arrange for your steps forward.

NYC Tech Talent Pipeline

NYC Tech Talent Pipeline is a $10 million public-private partnership launched by Mayor Bill de Blasio in May 2014 to support the growth of the NYC tech sector and prepare New Yorkers across the five boroughs for 21st century jobs. The Tech Talent Pipeline works with public and private partners to define employer needs, develop and test training and education solutions, and scale what works throughout the City, delivering quality talent for the City’s businesses and quality jobs for New Yorkers.

Student Projects

As a milestone of the TTP Residency Program, students after completing their month long web development training, developed web projects.

Students in Cohort 3 developed an application that helps users stay "In Touch" with their connections.
