The 2006 International Electro-Acoustic Music Festival at Brooklyn College features three evenings of electro-acoustic and intermedia works from around the world. Under the direction of George Brunner, the festival will take place from Tuesday, Nov. 14, to Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006.
Highlights for this year's festival include the "60 * 60" project by Brooklyn College alumnus Robert Voisey, renowned new music soprano Patricia Sonego performing works for voice and electronics, avant-garde improvisations by flautists Robert Dick and Christine Perea, and a 60th birthday celebration performance for El Paso artist James Magee.
The festival reaches into Manhattan this year, with the Wednesday and Thursday evening concerts held at the Jan Hus Church on the Upper East Side.

John Melby at the Brooklyn College Composers Forum
Melby discusses his works for soloist and electro-acoustic playback.
5:30 p.m., Levenson Hall
60 X 60 2006, New York Minutes
Robert Voisey's 60 X 60 project features 60 pieces by 60 composers in 60 minutes.
7 p.m., Levenson Hall
Patricia Sonego
Patricia Sonego performs works for voice and electronic playback by John Melby and Noah Creshevsky. Premieres of compositions by Ben Bierman, David Grubbs and Amnon Wolman will also be featured.

Robert Dick and Christine Perea
Robert Dick and Christine Perea perform new music for flute and electronics. The concert will feature a premiere by George Brunner.

Bob Ostertag at the Brooklyn College Center for Computer Music
Ostertag discusses his work with the texts of James Magee.

Celebrating James Magee
This concert celebrates the 60th birthday of El Paso artist James Magee.
Music by Douglas Cohen and Bob Ostertag based on selected titles to specific works of James Magee. Performances by James Magee and friends.
