Reporting Criminal Incidents
The Office of Campus and Community Safety Services seeks to ensure that the rights of every member of the campus community are respected and that there exists a safe and secure atmosphere, conducive to the pursuit of educational objectives. Safety personnel are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The 24-hour security operations numbers are:

All criminal actions or other emergencies occurring on campus must be reported immediately to the Office of Campus and Community Safety Services by telephone, in person at the office, or to any Brooklyn College officer on patrol. Reports of crimes may also be made in writing. In addition, crime information is exchanged between the Office of Campus and Community Safety Services and local police authorities, including the Transit Police–70th Precinct NYPD and 70th Precinct Detective Squad. When a repost is received, an officer will be dispatched to the caller's location for investigation. When necessary, a follow-up investigation is conducted by the department and coordinated with local police agencies. In the case of a medical or fire emergency, the Office of Campus and Community Safety Services notifies the appropriate emergency personnel.
