Our Past, Our Future
A Tradition of Public Service, Academic Excellence, and Innovation
Since its founding in 1930, Brooklyn College has excelled at providing a high-quality, affordable education to students of diverse backgrounds, many of them children of immigrants, working-class New Yorkers, and others seeking access to an outstanding public institution. Throughout the decades, the college has adapted to our changing world and to the educational needs of Brooklyn, New York City, and the nation by establishing innovative programs, creating new academic facilities, renovating buildings, expanding technology support, and improving the infrastructure for academic support services.
