Important Announcement About Winter and Spring Courses
Dear students, staff, and faculty,
To protect the health and safety of our community, we are pleased to announce that the CUNY Board of Trustees has voted for all CUNY colleges to continue online teaching in the 2021 Winter Intercession and Spring Semesters. Therefore, Brooklyn College will offer its winter and spring courses in a remote format, except for those courses that cannot be delivered remotely, such as those few that are being offered in a hybrid format this semester.
In anticipation of this decision, our faculty has been planning for a remote winter and spring, and we will be ready to deliver classes in that format. The Center for Teaching and Learning continues to offer excellent training for faculty in remote teaching, including the Brooklyn College Guide to Online Pedagogy, which trains faculty in best practices in online teaching.
Brooklyn College will continue to offer Student Support Services in a remote format, including personal counseling, academic advisement, career services, tutoring, and more, all of which you can access through our Virtual Front Desk.
Brooklyn College will also continue to offer an in-person Food Pantry, now open to all CUNY students by appointment.
Although we miss very much being able to see one another in person, it is not yet safe to gather again on our beautiful campus. There is no vaccine or cure for COVID-19, and cases are rising across the country. Please continue to mask whenever you go outside and remain socially distanced from others.
I want to close by thanking the Brooklyn College essential staff, who continue to work on campus ensuring that the essential functions of the College allow us to teach and learn online.
Finally, I encourage you all, if you haven’t already done so, to VOTE. Find your early voting site, make a plan, and make your voice heard in this important election.
Yours sincerely,
Michelle J. Anderson
President, Brooklyn College
