Fuse your graduate work in another field with broad cultural perspectives in Africana studies.
Our Department of Africana Studies offers you a number of graduate-level courses that fulfill elective requirements for other programs, allowing you to add another perspective to your education. You can take courses that focus on the histories, cultures, politics and societies of Africa and its diaspora, from the political economy of the Caribbean to modern South Africa. We also offer an exciting six-credit study-abroad summer seminar, which provides an in-depth experience in such countries as Barbados, Brazil, Cuba, Ghana, Haiti, Jamaica, Panama, and Trinidad and Tobago.
