Ali Sengul

Ali Sengul (B.A. Gazi University; Ph.D. University of Texas-Austin) is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Film and Media Studies at CUNY. He works on film historiography, early cinema, cultural modernity and film technology, cinema in Turkey, and stateless cinemas. He published articles on cinema and national modernity in Turkey, Kurdish cinema, and horror film. He is also co-editor of the Kurdish Media Special Issue of the Middle East Journal of Culture and Communication. In his spare time, Ali travels around and explores life with his camera.
