2014 Celebration
On Thursday, May 1, 2014, the Latin/Greek Institute, with the Classics Department of Brooklyn College, hosted an event to honor Hardy Hansen for his contributions as teacher, mentor and director. The celebration also marked the establishment of the new Hansen Prize for the Latin/Greek Institute, named in honor of Hardy. It was a beautiful evening, and dozens of guests enjoyed hors d'oeuvres and wine at the home of Profs. John Van Sickle and Gail Levin. Alumni and faculty of the Institute, colleagues from Brooklyn College, and friends mingled, caught up, and toasted Hardy for his decades-long work and influence. The pictures below capture the spirit of the evening.
