Scholarship Application Form
This single application will make you eligible for the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Scholarship, the Floyd L. Moreland Scholarship, the Christina M. Dunkle Memorial Award, and the Hardy Hansen Prize.
SNF Scholars will receive a support package tailored to their residency status as in-state or out-of-state students. Tuition grants will be awarded to outstanding applicants with demonstrated financial need. Tuition grants will be paid directly to the Brooklyn College bursar.
The Latin/Greek Institute has two modest funds from which it can grant partial tuition scholarships to exceptionally promising and needy candidates: the Floyd L. Moreland Scholarship Fund and the Christina M. Dunkle Memorial Fund. A third fund, the Hardy Hansen Prize, will award up to two stipends to support tuition costs during summer study at the LGI. These awards are administered by the City University of New York but are made possible by private contributions from friends and previous students of the LGI.
All scholarships provide only partial tuition; students are encouraged to start seeking funds from other sources as early as possible.
At the conclusion of the summer, scholarship recipients must submit a brief report on their experience at the Latin/Greek Institute for our donors. Scholarship recipients will forfeit their scholarship if they withdraw from the program during the liability period. Details will be provided during registration.
Additional Elements
To be considered for financial aid, the following elements are required:
- Submit an application for admission to the Latin/Greek Institute (if it has not already been submitted).
- Ensure that official copies of both undergraduate and graduate transcripts (and high school transcripts, if necessary) have been sent.
