Eligibility
Students must:
- be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident;
- be a high school graduate admitted to and registering at Brooklyn College with the intent to major in biology, chemistry, psychology or health and nutrition sciences and with an interest in discovering what medical research entails;
- be a member of an underrepresented group in biomedical research, including but not limited to African Americans, Native Americans and Latino/Hispanics; and
- have an overall high school and science GPA of at least 80.
Note
The program also requires that students commit to taking part in a highly structured year-round program, which includes part of the summer.
Apply early: RISE accepts only 15 to 20 students per year.
