†The Pathways curriculum is typically 42 credits. However, the Classics (Concentration in Greek & Roman Culture) major includes two courses (GRKC 2001 or LATN 2101 and GRKC 2002 or LATN 2102) that also satisfy Pathways requirements. Therefore, students majoring in Classics (Concentration in Greek & Roman Culture) only need to complete 36 additional Pathways credits.
Please note that the minimum credit requirement to complete this major concentration is 30 credits. However, it is acceptable for students to complete up to 32 credits in this major. The credit range is a result of the 4000-level courses: 4000-level CLAS courses are 4 credits each, whereas 4000-level GRKC and LATN courses are 3 credits each.
The four-year degree map is designed to help you take the right courses in the right order so you can graduate in four years. It also helps you distinguish what courses qualify as Pathways courses, or Major courses, or General Elective courses. Ideally, you should follow the four-year degree map as closely as possible, but you are free to make some adjustments so long as the prerequisite requirements are satisfied.
In conjunction with the four-year degree map, you should review Degree Works, and the Brooklyn College website, for an approved list of courses in your major. Overall, it is best to review your academic plan with your advisor on a regular basis.
