Alumnus Barry Salzberg, Former Global CEO of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Ltd., will be the first executive-in-residence and will participate in a conversation with Koppelman Dean Qing Hu for students on February 15.
The Murray Koppelman School of Business at Brooklyn College welcomes Barry Salzberg ‘74—the former chief executive officer of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Ltd., one of the four largest international accountancy firms in the world—as its inaugural executive for its new Executive-in-Residence Program, starting this spring. As part of the new program, Salzberg will help to mentor Brooklyn College business students and share his expertise to support the school.
The Executive-in-Residence Program allows Koppelman students to learn from various industry experts who will lend their specialized knowledge and experience in a series of guest lectures in undergraduate and graduate classes, one-on-one mentoring and consultation sessions with students and faculty, and other special events. The program officially kicks off on February 15, Tuesday at 12:30–2 p.m. with conversation between Salzberg and Koppelman School of Business Dean Qing Hu.

“We couldn’t be more excited to start this program and to have Barry Salzberg as our first executive in residence,” Hu said. “His incredible wealth of knowledge in global corporate leadership will help better prepare our students for career success and bolster our curriculum for the global economy and the digital revolution.”
Salzberg was conferred an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters at Brooklyn College’s 2015 Commencement, during which he served as the undergraduate keynote speaker.
“As an alumnus of Brooklyn College, it is such a privilege to give back to the college and its students,” Salzberg said. “To be the first executive-in-residence and share my years of experiences as a business leader, through one-on-one student interactions and lectures, is not only exciting for me but I hope will set the foundation for, and inspire, students entering the business world.”
