U.S. News & World Report Gives Brooklyn College High Marks in Latest "Best Colleges" Ranking

Brooklyn College appeared in the top 25 listing of public colleges and universities on the 2017 U.S. News & World Report "Best Colleges" ranking. The college also ranked in the top 100 in the "Regional Universities North" category at #75, up 11 slots from its 2016 position.
U.S. News & World Report ranks colleges based on a measurement that calculates graduation rates, alumni giving, student retention, academic reputation, faculty resources, student selectivity, and financial resources. Brooklyn College performed particularly well in categories related to graduation rate/retention (six-year graduation rate 54%; average freshman retention rate: 84%), student/faculty ratio (16:1), and selectivity (37.1%).
The college's graduate programs also appeared in the rankings with art, psychology, and speech communication arts and sciences receiving special distinction. The report also noted the college's most popular majors as business administration and management, psychology, accounting, biology, speech-language pathology.
These latest U.S. News & World Report rankings continue Brooklyn College's tradition of noted excellence.
