As they prepare for the next stages of their lives, members of the Brooklyn College Class of 2016 share their fondest memories at the school that they have called home. Check back each week in June to read their first-person accounts of what they learned both in and out of the classroom, and where they go from here.

I chose to study at Brooklyn College because it provided the perfect blend between a world-renowned university and a smaller, liberal arts campus. I was interested in attending classes at an institution where I would have more personal interactions with the students and staff members. I also loved the diversity on campus, which allowed me to experience a myriad of innovative perspectives. Each day brought the challenges of working with new people for a common goal, and I enjoyed the cultural and communal aspects of Brooklyn College experience.
My education here has taught me to never take a moment or opportunity for granted, and to seize all the chances I get to become a better individual. While college taught me to be independent, it also taught me how to seek out resources. The college blessed me with the chance to learn from the experiences of people who faced hardship, yet came out on top. Encountering other students working multiple jobs, taking care of families, and doing so much in their communities really inspired me to put my best foot forward and do everything with love, passion, and willpower. I also enjoy working with people for a common mission and seeing the results come to fruition. These are all aspects of life at Brooklyn College that have made my four years here so enjoyable.
I am in the process of applying to master's in public health and master's in health administration programs at various institutions. My plan is to pursue a career in healthcare management.
