Students will describe speech, language, and communication acquisition of individuals with autism spectrum disorders.
Students will identify the strengths and challenges of individuals on the autism spectrum in various developmental domains
Students will describe identification, assessment, and intervention approaches from different theoretical perspectives and describe the integration of various models.
Students will identify evidence-based and non-evidence-based approaches to working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
Students will describe contemporary issues regarding autism identify and culture from an interdisciplinary and cross-paradigm perspective.
Students will incorporate national, state, and local curricula standards, as well as general and special curricula, necessary accommodations and strategies for teaching individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Students will identify legislation and relevant case law in Autism Spectrum Disorders as it applies to the development of policy and regulation.
