†The Pathways curriculum is typically 42 credits. However, the Exercise Science (Fitness Professional) major includes four courses (CHEM 1100, KINS 3281, KINS 3285, and PHYS 1100) that also satisfy Pathways requirements. Therefore, students majoring in Exercise Science (Fitness Professional) only need to complete 30 additional Pathways credits.

The Exercise Science Fitness Professional Track provides a strong background in exercise testing and exercise training. As such, graduates should be well prepared to enter the fields of fitness and wellness, strength and conditioning, and will also have completed most of the prerequisite courses for various Health Related Professions (e.g., Physical Therapy).

Students must earn a C or higher in both KINS 3281 and KINS 3285 to continue to KINS 3290, KINS 4200W, KINS 4250, KINS 4400, KINS 4402, KINS 4500, KINS 4510, KINS 4520, KINS 4760.

The four-year degree map is designed to help you take the right courses in the right order so you can graduate in four years. It also helps you distinguish what courses qualify as Pathways courses, or Major courses, or General Elective courses. Ideally, you should follow the four-year degree map as closely as possible, but you are free to make some adjustments so long as the prerequisite requirements are satisfied.

In conjunction with the four-year degree map, you should review Degree Works, and the Brooklyn College website, for an approved list of courses in your major. Overall, it is best to review your academic plan with your advisor on a regular basis.
