Admitted Students — Next Steps

Congratulations on your acceptance to Brooklyn College. This page will guide you through the process time of enrolling in your program and answer questions you might have along the way.

1) Confirm Your Admissions

Accept the offer of admissions through your Apply Yourself account.

2) Pay Commitment Deposits

There are many ways to pay the $250 commitment deposit (pdf). This deposit will be credited to your tuition in your first semester. Your will not be available to activate your student account until you have confirmed your admissions and paid the commitment deposit. Please give the Office of Graduate Admissions 3-5 business days to enter your information onto the system before moving on to the next step. You will receive an email once your account is activated.

3) Activate Your Student Accounts

In order to gain access to important student functions and campus services, you must claim your student accounts. For a tutorial, click here (pdf).

4) Immunizations

You are required to submit immunization forms with documentation to the Health Programs Office before registering for classes. (Note: Current and former CUNY students do not need to submit forms.)

5) Join an Incoming Student Session

We will be hosting bi-weekly incoming students info session to assist students with the admissions process. Please RSVP to attend.

6) Academic Advisement

Advisement is integral to the academic experience. You are encouraged to seek assistance from your academic adviser or graduate deputy in developing an academic plan. You can also visit DegreeWorks to see your program's academic plan for additional guidance. Please note: DegreeWorks is available one week after receiving confirmation that your CUNYfirst account has been activated. You must claim your CUNYfirst account to sign in. After receiving advisement, please register for classes on CUNYfirst. For instructions on how to register, click here.

ID Cards

Students must have a valid Brooklyn College ID card to gain access to campus facilities. Once you have registered and you have a valid ID, you may obtain your college ID card from the Enrollment Services Center.
