Utilizing Animals in Research, Training, and Teaching
All faculty, staff, and students who require the use of animals in research, training, and teaching must obtain approval from the IACUC prior to commencing the activities of the project. The process begins with the submission of the Brooklyn College Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee — Animal Use Protocol Application. Protocols are approved for up to a three-year period and are reviewed on an annual basis for the continuation of the project. Investigators are required to complete and submit the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee — Annual Renewal Form. Studies that must continue past the three-year period must submit a new Animal Use Protocol Application and receive de novo review.
